Young Adult National Weekend

Each spring, the blessed day when young people receive their First Holy Communion is a special highlight in each of the Institute’s apostolates nationwide. Under the direction of the canons and the oblates, these young souls have been preparing for many months in order to make their first Confession and to receive Our Lord in the Holy Eucharist in the most worthy manner possible. As you look through the photo gallery depicting this important day in the life of the Institute’ apostolates across the country, you are invited to reflect on these beautiful words of our holy patron, Saint Francis de Sales, regarding the Most Blessed Sacrament of the altar:

“The Holy Eucharist is the perfect Communion of Saints, for it is the food common to angels, and sainted souls in Paradise, and ourselves… This very belief in the Most Holy Sacrament, which in truth, reality, and substance, contains the true and natural body of Our Lord, is actually the abridgment of our faith, according to that of the Psalmist “He had made a memory of His wonderful works.” O holy and perfect memorial of the Gospel! O admirable summing up of our faith! He who believes, O Lord, in Thy presence in this Most Holy Sacrament, as Thy holy Church proposes it… can never fail in Faith.”
