THE SOCIETY OF THE SACRED HEART AT ST. STANISLAUS ORATORY

The Society of the Sacred Heart is the formal lay association within the spiritual family of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest. Like Third Order members of other religious orders in the Church, lay faithful who are members of the Society of the Sacred Heart participate in the spirituality of the Institute, help to sustain its apostolic work, and participate in spiritual retreats and gatherings organized locally and nationally by Society chaplains.

In this holy endeavor, members of the Society of the Sacred Heart place themselves under the spiritual direction of the priests of the Institute of Christ the King and are supported by their prayers as well as those of our oblates, seminarians and the Sister Adorers of the Royal Heart of Jesus.

Members of the Society of the Sacred Heart Accept as a Perpetual Rule of Life:
• Daily Mass (or at least a daily Spiritual Communion)
• Daily recitation of the night office of Compline or at least one other hour of the Divine Office
• Daily consecration to Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, patroness of the Institute
• Daily spiritual reading & meditation on the works of the Institute patrons
• Frequent Confession
• Occasional spiritual direction, (preferably by a priest of the Institute)

Members of the Society of the Sacred Heart meet quarterly at St. Stanislaus for spiritual talks.   Interested lay faithful can inquire about becoming members of the Society of the Sacred Heart by contacting St. Stanislaus Coordinator Mary Lou Wirtz  or by contacting at This email address is being protected from spambots.
