While much attention has been given to the development and growth of the Institute's Provincial Headquarters in Chicago these past months, little has been said about the growth of the Institute's apostolate in the same city. God mercifully blessed the Institute in 2020 by allowing us to continue to serve our people, despite the adversity we all faced. All across the country, we experienced growth as we continued to provide the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, Confessions, and all the Sacraments, and our Chicago apostolate was no exception.

For this need, our Divine Lord provided something we never would have thought humanly possible even just a few years ago: a new building to meet the needs of Chicago's local apostolate as it continues to grow in the city's southeast side. Earlier this month, Chicago's apostolate purchased the school building adjacent to the Institute's U.S. Provincial Headquarters to be the new home of their apostolate and the center of parish life, calling it the "Holy Family House".

With this acquisition of the campus' historic school building, both the Institute's local apostolate in Chicago and our U.S. Provincial Headquarters now have the space they need to grow and develop their distinctly unique and respective purposes: the devoted pastoral care of souls in the local area for the apostolate and the dedicated administration of our nationwide spiritual family for our headquarters. Distinct from the Institute's U.S. Provincial Headquarters & Shrine of Christ the King (which all of the Institute’s American apostolates are helping to build together), the Holy Family House will provide the needed space for the local Chicago faithful to grow and develop their apostolate for the benefit of the city of Chicago. As Chicago's clergy and faithful work to make this gift of Divine Providence into a befitting place to help spread the reign of Christ the King to the souls in their local apostolate, let us in fraternal charity pray for them during this time of transition.

"Carry each other's burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ." (Galatians 2:6)
