On the shores of Green Lake, Wisconsin, amidst these tumultuous times, over 90 young adults aged 18 - 35 came together for the 10th annual National Sursum Corda Retreat. The largest group of young adults ever to have attended! Participants came from all over the country, representing almost every American Institute Apostolate and many other parish communities from California to Massachusetts. After covering the virtue of Prudence last year, this year's theme continued with the four cardinal virtues and focused on the virtue of Justice. Canon Jean-Baptiste Commins and Canon Luke Zignego offered daily intellectual and theological conferences on different aspects of this virtue. Many examples of Justice in the secular and Catholic culture were discussed, and the Canons offered instruction on how to exercise this virtue and combat the opposite vice. Participants also enjoyed the spiritual benefit of daily Mass, Confession, public Rosaries, nightly Compline, all night Adoration, and individual spiritual direction with the Canons. All of these graces were supported by the opportunity to renew long-distance friendships and form new ones as well!

As our Patron St. Francis de Sales says: "There is nothing more prized than true friendship.... If your mutual and reciprocal exchanges concern charity, devotion and Christian perfection, O God, how precious this friendship will be! It will be excellent because it comes from God, excellent because it leads to God, excellent because its bond will endure eternally in God."

All were most grateful to have this opportunity of spiritual and social benefit after being deprived of such for so long in the past several months. Deepest thanks is due to those who fought to overcome many difficult and neverending challenges to keep this retreat available in this year of 2020. We hope to see everyone return again next year!
