Corpus Christi at St. Stanislaus

On June 4, hundreds joined in celebrating the great feast of Corpus Christi at St. Stanislaus Oratory. Canon Aaron Huberfeld, vice provincial of the Institute, offered solemn High Mass with Canon Andrew Todd and Fr. Simon Tipps assisting.

After Mass, priests and acolytes began the procession as parishioners offered veneration. Then, everyone followed the procession of the Most Blessed Sacrament for five blocks along Mitchell Street from St. Stanislaus to St. Anthony church, scattering rose petals and singing as they walked. At St. Anthony’s, benediction was offered as the choir sang.

O Zion, praise your Savior!
Praise your guide and your shepherd
In hymns and songs.
Dare to do as much as you can,
For He is greater than all praise,
and you do not do enough to praise Him.
Today there is placed before us
A theme of special praise:
The living and lifegiving bread.
Let praise be full! Let it resound!
Let also the rejoicing of the spirit
Be pleasant and most fitting!
From “Lauda Sion” written by St. Thomas Aquinas for the feast of Corpus Christi
