2025 Annual Father-Son Summer Camp

The Annual Father-Son Summer Camp for the two Bay Area apostolates of the Institute of Christ the King, St. Michael’s Patrol, took place from July 23 – 26.

The theme of this year’s camp was “The Evangelization of the British Isles.” We focused on the great heroes of the Catholic Church in countries like England, Ireland and Scotland, such as Saint Augustine of Canterbury and Saint Patrick.

All the young men who attended displayed a great joy and enthusiasm for the events and games, sportsmanlike conduct, and edifying piety.

The fathers, too, were able to have true fraternity among themselves and enjoy several days away with just themselves and their sons in the beauty of God’s great outdoors. None of this would have been possible without the generous dedication of the visiting clergy, seminarians and volunteers.

Thanks in particular to Canon Jonathon Fehrenbacher, Rector of St. Gianna Oratory, who came all the way from Tucson, Arizona.

We were joined as well for the first time by Abbé Raymond Schmidt, an oblate of the Institute who came from Chicago. Abbé Raymond's musical talents certainly enlivened the camp experience for everyone!
