Mass Intentions
Dear faithful,
As you know, Mass intentions are submitted regularly and by many of the faithful. It is important to ensure that everyone has the same opportunity to have Masses offered for their intentions, and that Mass intentions be scheduled in an efficient manner. To that end, please note the following guidelines of our new Mass intentions policy:
Mass intentions are to be submitted with their stipends in an envelope. These envelopes will be made available on the tables near the main entrance of Most Holy Rosary Chapel (1 St. Vincent's Drive, San Rafael) beginning this Sunday, September 7.
You may place your envelopes in the collection basket with your stipend, or you may mail the envelope and stipend to:
Canon Norman
St. Vincent’s School for Boys
1 St. Vincent’s Dr.
San Rafael, CA 94903
Include your email address and phone number on the envelope in case clarification is needed in regards to your requested Mass intention.
Stipends can be made by cash or check. Please make stipend checks payable to: “Canon Benjamin Norman.” The suggested stipend for one Mass intention is $10 in the Archdiocese of San Francisco.
Before submitting intentions, be sure to check the calendar of Mass intentions to find an available date. The calendar can be viewed here.
Please do not request dates further than 3 months out.
If you request a Mass intention for a date that is already taken, your intention will be assigned to another date or declined if no date is available.
Each person may request up to 3 intentions per month, and only one of these may be for a Sunday Mass. If you have already requested 3 Mass intentions in a given month, please wait until the next month to submit more Mass intentions. It is a time-intensive project to record and schedule Mass intentions, and all must be able to have their intentions scheduled in due time. Your understanding on this point is therefore greatly appreciated.
Please feel free to contact Canon Norman or check the online Calendar of Mass intentions to see the date of your intention, or to request a change of date for a Mass intention:
Please check the online calendar regularly for possible changes to the schedule of Mass intentions, especially a week or several days before your scheduled Mass intention.
Hopefully these guidelines will help establish an orderly and manageable process.
Thank you for your understanding, and please contact Canon Norman if you have any questions.
