In normal times, our parish offers weekly Catechism classes for children from first through twelfth grades each Sunday from September to May. We have a full and accredited series of religious instructions, with teachers who are knowledgeable and devout Catholics, and have fulfilled the requirements for "Protecting God's Children," as well as other diocesan requirements.

Unfortunately, the conditions currently required by the Diocese of Pittsburgh for in-classroom Catechism instruction make it impossible for our parish to offer the normal program this semester. Therefore, for at least the remainder of 2020, the Catechism program will consist of lesson plans emailed to families by the teachers, with parents expected to work with their children on the assignments. Textbooks will be distributed soon, with details to be announced in the bulletin and on this website.

For families with children enrolled in the Catechism program last year, registration forms have been printed and are available for pickup in the narthex of the church (by the St. Anthony statue) beginning on Sunday, Sept. 20. This form should be reviewed by the parents, updated as needed (though no changes will be necessary for many families), and returned to the parish office.

For NEW families who want to enroll children in the Catechism program, blank enrollment forms are also available in the church narthex, or can be obtained from the parish office.

Of special note, students expecting to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation this year must be registered for Mr. Friend's class by Friday, September 25. Please contact the parish office by phone (412-761-1508) or email (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) ASAP.
