UPDATE 11/26: Due to unforeseen circumstances this event is postponed until further notice.

On Saturday, November 27 at 2:00 p.m., the Schola Gregoriana of the Saint Gregory Institute of Sacred Music, along with the MPBOJ Schola Cantorum, will offer a special liturgical presentation of Gabriel Fauré’s setting of the Requiem Mass. The Mass will be offered for the Faithful Departed of the Diocese of Pittsburgh by Canon Avis and will include Gregorian chant alongside Fauré’s beloved music. The scholas will be accompanied by a chamber orchestra conducted by Nicholas Will and our Music Director, John Rokosz. This Mass is a rare opportunity to experience Fauré’s masterpiece in its original liturgical context—that of the “Tridentine” Roman Catholic Mass.
