On Thursday, December 5, 2019, Canon James Hoogerwerf celebrated a First Mass at St. Francis de Sales Oratory in St. Louis, Missouri. After Mass, Canon Hoogerwerf led the devotions for the Novena to the Immaculate Conception and then gave his first priestly blessings to all the faithful in attendance. Canon spent a year of formation as a candidate at St. Francis de Sales Oratory in 2010-2011. He was ordained by His Eminence, Raymond Leo Cardinal Burke this past summer at the Institute of Christ the King’s apostolate in Florence, Italy. Canon now serves at the Institute's US Provincial Headquarters in Chicago as the Provincial Bursar. Please pray for Canon as he begins his priestly ministry.
