Approximately 80 men from across the Institute in the Midwest came to St. Stanislaus Oratory in Milwaukee on Saturday, April 1, to be a part of the Men's Lenten retreat sponsored by the Holy Name Society.
The morning started with Holy Mass and confession and a delicious breakfast followed by two talks by Canon Luke Zignego.
Canon's first talk was about what it means to be a Catholic man, husband and father, emphasizing the duty of men to sanctify, teach and govern their families in imitation of Christ.
The second talk reviewed the ceremonies and rituals of Holy Week as celebrated before the changes made in 1955 and as currently celebrated throughout the Institute of Christ the King.
Men attending the retreat went home spiritually nourished, energized by the camaraderie of their Institute brothers, and ready to receive the abundant graces God provides this and every Holy Week.
