The first of this year's retreats for the Society of the Sacred Heart was held at St. Patrick’s Oratory in Waterbury, Connecticut, from June 16 (the feast of the Sacred Heart) through June 18.
The retreat opened with the chanting of the Veni Creator. During these three days, the schedule for participants included Solemn Masses, Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, and the sung night office of Compline.

Attendees were greatly honored by the presence of His Eminence, Raymond Leo Cardinal Burke, who offered a conference on Saturday of the retreat.
Also present were Prior General Msgr. Gilles Wach, who preached at Mass and offered a conference, Canon Aaron Huberfeld, chaplain, and Canon Matthew Talarico, Provincial of the American province.

New members of the Society received the Cross of Saint Francis de Sales from the hands of Msgr. Wach.
