In October 2011, His Lordship, the Right Reverend Mark Davies, Bishop of Shrewsbury in the United Kingdom, asked the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest to open the beautiful church of Ss. Peter Paul and Philomena, which is located in the seaside city of New Brighton, Wirral. This is the first shrine church in England to be dedicated to the celebration of the Mass and Sacraments according to the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite.

Our Time in History

Our Time in History

It is my pleasure to announce the beginning of the "Our Time in History" capital campaign. With this campaign we will establish a building fund to provide the necessary funds for the restoration of St. Stanislaus Church. In the first phase of this multi-part beautification project starting in the late summer/early fall of 2012 we will restore the Narthex and update the Climate Control System with new air conditioninganon Jayr units. The Narthex restoration includes beautiful wood French doors and transoms with etched glass as well as new flooring and lighting will be added.

On Thursday, June 3, Feast of Corpus Christi, Saint Joseph's Oratory in Green Bay, Wisconsin, had the joy of welcoming Monsignor Gilles Wach, Founder and Prior General of the Institute. Monsignor Wach celebrated the Solemn High Mass, during which Monsignor R. Michael Schmitz gave an inspiring sermon on the institution of the Holy Eucharist. At the end of Holy Mass the First Communicants and numerous faithful participated in the Corpus Christi procession on the chapel grounds.

On Sunday, June 6, His Grace, the Most Reverend Basile Mvé Engone, Archbishop of Libreville, Gabon, administered the Sacrament of Confirmation in the Extraordinary Form to twenty-one young people and adults of the Institute's parish of Our Lady of Lourdes, located in a central district of the capital city of Libreville.

More than 35 schola directors and singers from various apostolates attended the Gregorian Chant Workshop for the Serious Student, which took place in March at the Shrine of Christ the King in Chicago, the Institute's operation center in the US.
