Father Alvin Gutierrez, a priest of the Diocese of Pittsburgh for 63 years, and who served the Latin Mass Community at St. Boniface Church for decades, died on Tuesday, December 19, 2023.

Visitation in church on Saturday, December 23, 8–10 a.m., at Saint Cyril of Alexandria Church, 3854 Brighton Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15212. Funeral Mass follows at 10 a.m., celebrated by Bishop David Zubik, with homilist Rev. Dam Nguyen.

Join us for an Advent tradition! On Thursday, December 14th, there will be a Rorate Mass at 6 a.m. It is called “Rorate” from the opening words of the Introit from the Mass of Our Lady in Advent, and is celebrated before day-break with the church illuminated only by candlelight. For those wishing additional light in order to follow with a missal, please bring your own candle.

Mass on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, will be at 8 a.m.; there is no Mass at noon. The Thursday evening Holy Hour is also cancelled.

The Parish Office will be closed on both Thursday and Friday.

Maria Rikk died on Monday, October 9, 2023, at age 84.

Visitation is on Thursday, October 12 from 3-7 PM at Perman Funeral Home, 923 Saxonburg Boulevard, Shaler Twp., 15223.

A Requiem Mass will be offered for Mrs. Rikk at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, October 13 at Most Precious Blood of Jesus Parish.
